Brighton  Festival Chorus

Since its formation in 1968 Brighton Festival Chorus has developed a well-earned reputation as one of the most versatile choirs in the UK, competing with London-based choirs in its busy schedule of concerts.  The Chorus has gained the respect of many leading conductors and orchestras for its consistently high standards and for the breadth of repertoire that it performs.

"...From the first almost whispered "Requiem" to the final dying phrase, the BFC was crisp and clear, warm and haunting....."

The Chorus has been involved in a number of live film performances and semi-staged performances of vibrant new works, including Tavener's Veil of the Temple at the BBC Promenade Concerts, Bach’s St John Passion in Brighton and, with Carl Davis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, in the premiere ‘live soundtrack’ performance of Olivier’s classic film Henry V

.

Highlights throughout 2012 included Shostakovich's Babi Yar with the Philharmonia conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy and Tippett’s King Priam conducted by Sian Edwards, both in the 2012 Brighton Festival.
